主要想寫一下個人比較感興趣的部分。其他省略。

以前在書上看過,戰爭時士兵侵入敵國的家園,強暴他們的婦女,有很大一部分是基於生理上想要播散基因的本能(兩種動機:一是在死前儘快留下基因,二是儘可能將基因播散得越遠越好;就像蒲公英那樣)。在戰爭紛擾的時代,人的心理無時無刻不被巨大的生存壓力所宰制,已經沒有多餘的空間可從事文明或是道德之類的高功能思考活動。特別是在軍隊裡,在這個被要求於短時間內鍛鍊為戰爭機器的群體裡,人性似乎被剝削得只剩下動物的殺戮與生殖的求生本能了。

電影用女性在戰地中被擺放的地位將這個概念暗示出來。軍隊裡士兵間的談話中很大比例地以貶低女性作為互相攻擊的笑料,越南妓女的出現並再次強化了在該時空中物化女性的意圖。在軍隊中妓女是奇貨可居的寶貝,被爭相調情、獻媚,不過終究只是可比價的貨品罷了。(雖然在歷史事實中,美國婦女在男人們外出送死時留守家園製造物資,被國家(機器)捧為偉大的後援,不過電影主要聚焦在戰地前線這個絶對男性化的場域)

女性以被物化的方式暗示人性之失去,在片末則以被重新賦予人格的方式拳打腳踢地將遺失的人性一口氣召喚回來。在一次行動中,小隊遭到埋伏的狙擊攻擊,失去三個兄弟後,剩下的男人們決定衝進敵營殺掉狙擊手報仇。他們成功衝進狙擊手躲藏的破舊房屋內,然而在那兒等著他們的並不是什麼火力強大的敵人,甚至不是軍隊,甚至不是男人,而是一個弱小的越南小民女。女孩被槍擊後應聲倒地,生氣蓬勃的眼神仍然狠狠瞪著這個奪走她生存權的世界。

在這荒地裡的報廢房屋,孤立於世界之外、孤立於政治之外,也許也孤立於國族孤立於性別之外,在這裡,只剩下人與人之間的關係。這時候,二兵小丑忽然覺得,他必須救這個女孩。可是最後,她發出虛弱的聲音,要男人們殺掉她,結束她的生命,男人們於是要求”站在她那邊”的小丑做那個應她的要求,結束她生命的人。於是,經過一段沒有人能真正明白的苦思之後,他終於慢慢舉起槍,讓這個異國小女孩成為他在這場戰事中殺掉的,也許也是最後一個的,人類。

這部電影。藝術上頗喜歡,可是感情上很不喜歡。我很討厭男性化到破表的電影。雖然最後好像有變溫柔一點點不過前面都很不溫柔。不過撇開個人喜好不談,庫柏力克似乎對於處在高壓力環境中的人心變化特別感興趣,目前為止看過的這個還有發條橘子還有閃亮都是這種主題的電影。可惜他死了,不然也蠻想來一部庫柏力克改編版的長路之類的,不過他絕對絕對絕對會把電影拍得很不溫柔,那還是算了,再見。
